Front Drive Shaft Kohler Help Needed
Hello everybody. I am new to the forum. I have read quite a few threads. I am curious if anyone has tried running a cw cc off of a front shaft drive Kohler. I have a 2002 that was given to me. The guy at a closed down golf course was using it for parts to keep one going. Apparently it did run till they started scavenging it for the other. I have a good running m18 Kohler that had a front drive fully on it. I know I,ve read several times that the front has smaller bearings and will not last as long. But has anyone tried it. I know the briggs won't last long at all. It would be tight with that old flathead but I know I can do the jackshaft thing. I live on twenty acres and my main hobbit is training field trial labradors and competing and just want to use it around the grounds. no mud riding or horsing around with it. And mainly it would be easier for my wife to drive. There isn't anything I can't make or get made if needed. I am wiring it up to a regular key start and using the motor starter and motor charging system. I,ve already pulled the other motor and generator /starter out. I have no interest in the stock press the pedal to start scenario. As i said I can build pretty much anything Needed. Have access to Water-jet, lathe, mill and just about any tool. I have been in industrial Fiberglass manufacturing for 25 years. Jack of all. lol Input needed.

There will be a lot of side force on the crank that I don't think u will get to long out of it but u can run the rear end backwards u will just lose a little speed

What kind of speed reduction are we talking about. Will it rev very high in comparison to running a jack shaft. Running in reverse seems the easiest route for what I need.

Guess I'm forgetting it's a golf cart. They aren't built for a lot of speed.
