Looks like you may just have donated some $ to the Chinese economy with that reducer.

ROFLMAO! Yeah, I sure did. Looks like our suggested site sponsor keeps stock in them as well. That's besides the point of this thread. Given the specs of what I am using it should have worked.

Looks like I will be going with a DPI 400w inverter. Other cheap ones were returned and look forward to having lights that work.

Hey, "not working" is better than "on fire"! Never yet had a Dpi reducer fail on me. One thing I have noticed, with light loads, it takes a couple seconds for the reducer to turn off after key off (if Key switching is used), no big deal.

Yes, on fire would be bad!!!! I'll consider myself lucky! So, how would you wire it into the key switch?

Just that, a wire from the key switch circuit to the "enable" circuit of the reducer.

Finally made some worthwhile positive progress. My problem was a very simple one, I had hooked the positive up after the solenoid, prior to the controller. Once I hooked it up to the battery prior to the solenoid..... lights worked just fine! Simple mistake that cause a lot of head scratching!!!
