95 club car issues
Hi guys, first post here. I've been lurking and learning a lot from this site.
Now to my question, I just picked up a 95 club car for 200$ ( a steal) but my problem is it won't start. I know this is vague, but this is what I know. It has spark, has fuel but seems to back fire thru the carb and not start. Now, history... the guy I got it from replaced the generator, new fuel filters, new fuel pump and new air filters. It seems to me like a timing issue, but knowing there isn't timing, could the generator be wired wrong? Looking at it from the passenger side or clutch side it's spinning CCW. Could it be that simple? It's the original motor and reared. Tell me I'm right please. Oh, when I initially got it the carb was puking out the overflow, I pulled the carb and they had a nail holding the float on. Hackers no doubt! Thanks in advanced ken |

Re: 95 club car issues
get to the basics! Yank the plug and hold throttle wide open and check compression with a gauge. hold the plug against the metal cowling while cranking,do you have spark? Use a NEW spark plug. Is the fuel really "good" gasoline? THINK,before you act.....the basics will never fail you.

Re: 95 club car issues
Fresh gas, fresh plug with good blue bright spark, new filters, fuel and air. I checked all grounds, I went as basic as I could. I'm trying to undo another guys mess, I'm not a stranger to carts. I've also got a Yamaha G2 that I've lovingly been restoring. I'm not an expert by any means, but this one has me a tiny bit confused.. thanks for the reply. Ken

Ty switching the wires on the starter, it may be backwards.

Re: 95 club car issues
Well after several hours of tinkering, I finally got it to run. I pulled the carb out again, cleaned it really really good this time. I also changed all fuel lines and redid the engine ground strap. My son an I were screaming with joy. Now it's on to lights front and back, then she's going off to the camp. Thanks guys!

Yes sir! The basics never fail you! It's the bet 200$ I've ever spent, the new parts alone were worth it. Love this site! Ken
