2014 Precident
Hey - new to me cart. 1st Eric charge system. I'm gonna go through some upgrades here step by step. As usual guys, I appreciate it if we can stay on topic.
Here is the cart as it arrived. She does 14.2 mph and has some strong regen braking... which is especially aggressive on any downhill run. Dog almost came off the seat. I sent the controller off to my favorite CC shop to be tweaked for maximum speed. That will be our jumping off point |

Re: 2014 Precident
CC has made some real improvements in production which aid the technician as well. The whole controller removal took 10 minutes. and took surprisingly few tools.
Tool list : I prefer my little 12v Makita for light jobs like this I used a 3/8ths driver and 5 sockets 5/8, 9/16, 1/2, 3/8, and a torx socket Lift the seat and put the Run/Tow switch in the TOW position (always) Remove the seat and the 2 center batteries |

Re: 2014 Precident
Remove Torx screw in top of the controller heat-sink panel.
I identify this as the heat sink panel because there is no other reason to have such a large thick piece of aluminum in an otherwise plastic battery bay. The controller is mounted directly to the backside of this panel so that it can transfer heat to the aluminum panel. Just the one tarx screw holds the panel in place. Pull and lift the panel towards the front of the cart exposing the controller and solenoid. Identify original wiring; I prefer the cell phone camera to my memory for this. Remove three 3/8ths crews that hold the control to the heat sink. Remove the control |

Total 10 minutes of work using these tools. I'll post more when we get the control back.

Here's a link to MCOR replacement...you KNOW it's going to need it!
I have no clue who made this video, but he mentions BGW starting at the 5:20 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jEQsKROir4 |
