Not sure how you ended up buying the universal kit - we make a kit for the 84 CC with the pedal wire harness made up & these instructions included. You should be good to go now. Just follow this diagram

I have it hooked up and when you turn the key on There is no status light (on) on the controller but as soon as I hit the gas pedal the main solenoid clicks and the status light flashes green (every time you push pedal) but the motor doesn't kick on unless you hold pedal down for a few seconds and then when you let off pedal the motor kicks on (forward and reverse works) what did I do wrong?

As I said in my email - I have not had this problem but I did talk with alltrax about it. Here is what they told me:

SR/XCT throttle hesitation fix

The hesitation on start we believe is a problem with how the linearized throttle position is set, if someone gets that have them pull up the toolkit, make sure they can see linearized throttle position (a check box in the tools à options window will let you see it if they can’t already). We want to check the Big double sided arrow in the top left corner, if you hover your mouse over it you should see a number pop up. If it’s a high number drop it to 5% if it’s already at 5% drop it to 1% and see if that helps.

PLEASE - do not change ANYTHING else in your controller for now. I was the last one in there.

I don't believe it's a hesitation issue...when you push on accelerator the solenoid kicks on but the motor doesn't run at all (no matter how far you push it down) but when you start letting UP on the accelerator pedal that's when the motor kicks in

It sounds like You may be missing the pre-charge resistor across the Solenoid big posts.

Also check that there are no other wires on the Solenoid big post that connects to Controller B+.

Here is a picture of the wiring diagram and my solenoid...the left side of the solenoid goes to Battery+ (with fuse) and the right side of the solenoid does go to the B+ on the controller and also from the B+ on the controller it goes to the F/R switch...from what I read when you turn on the key switch the status light on controller should light up but it doesn't...only lights up when pushing on the accelerator pedal...

What kind of throttle device are you using, a VGlide (Multi-step potentiometer) or ScottyB throttle?

How many wires go to the throttle?
