Re: CC Motor upgrade question
Update: I landed a new style rear end with motor for $40. I just gotta drive 3 hours to go pick it up.
The motor has these markings: Part No. 101785701 Model No. 5BC59JBS 61948 Date Code XLN N Voltage 48V HP 3.10 Special Service I've done as much searching as possible but from everything I have read this motor will most likely result in a loss of speed for me. Is this correct? Current Motor has these markings: Model No. 5BC48JB691A RPM. 2800 Voltage 36V HP 2 Amp 55 I know it's probably a deal I just can't pass up either way but just looking for a little more insight. Controller is FSIP #FS42L700NN0S Thanks in advance. |

Re: CC Motor upgrade question
You are correct. Running a 48 volt motor on a 36 volt system will result in a loss of speed, but for the price you got the entire package for, you can't help but buy it. That's an incredible deal. I'd install the drive unit and see if I could sell the 48 volt motor that's on it. Then apply the money to a new 36 volt motor.

Re: CC Motor upgrade question
How can it be a 48V system when your current motor says 36V and in your first post you said you have a 36V motor?

Re: CC Motor upgrade question
In that case, you're still going to be slower. The 3.10 HP factory motor will only get you about 12-14MPH

Re: CC Motor upgrade question
I got it all installed last night. Man this thing is a dog compared to the old GE 36V 2hp motor. I think the max I saw was 18 mph. Old setup got me like 22.
