Overfilled Batts...now what
So I slightly overfilled a couple batts today...charging made them puke just a bit (i filled after full charge but hard to see how much is in the cell).
So i did the baking soda and water to cleanup...but the cells are still too full. Do I try and suck some out with like a turkey baster or syringe? Or just let it go and evaporate down? |

Re: Overfilled Batts...now what
You should just let it evaporate and go down as normal.
You really don't want to change the acid quantity in the cell. The water evaporates and leaves the same amount of acid in the cell. Cleanup additional puke and keep monitoring. |

Re: Overfilled Batts...now what
ok I just cleaned it and plugged it back in, and it puked a bit more....but its out doing some work now so maybe that'll help evaporate some water a bit faster (I really don't know if usage causes the evaporation or if it just happens naturally).

Re: Overfilled Batts...now what
I have removed it plenty of times and placed it in a clean 2 liter bottle for reuse or just dispose of it. (My neighbor I try and kelp so often with his cart took mine one day why his was down and then detailed it all up and also topped off my batteries - and when I say top off, I mean to the TOP! I completely filled a 2 liter bottle...)
I use a small baby's nose sucker-outter (or whatever you call that little bulb looking thing!) |

Re: Overfilled Batts...now what
Good point! As long as you use what you pulled out to re-top them.
If you just add more water the acid level will be lower. |

Re: Overfilled Batts...now what
And another good thing about it, when you are using it and it gets down to where it cavitates, that is usually just about 1/4" or so above the plates and is the perfect water level...
