success! I just half-*** cleaned the concrete (rag and brake cleaner) and the smell went away after a couple of weeks. But it was strong for a while.

Hey guys, thanks for the thread. I recently purchased a 2012 RXV and I hear a grinding/creaking noise coming from what I believe to be the rear. It mainly stands out when I’m going slow and turning. I’ve read a little that I may just need to change the dif oil and get some new lube in there. Also wondering if what I hear are bad bearings. Based on my description, any thoughts or advice?

"Creaking" while turning is usually the Posi (but could easily be wheel bearings). Change out the fluid. Use 85-90w gear lube & add 2oz of friction modifier. 27oz total fill. Even if it turns out to be wheel bearings, the oil has likely never been changed, so still a win. There are many threads here about rxv gear oil changes, just search button at top right.
