Default 700 amp controller or ITS converter problem

2000 EZGO TXT A100 series cart.

I bought:
Speed demon motor
48V lithium battery
700 amp ge controller
2ga wires
HD solenoid
HD F&W Switch

Local shop to put it all together.
I cant tell if my shop does not know what he is doing or there is a problem with the converter or controller. Maybe motor?

First thing was the shop had me buy an ITS throttle converter for the GE controller. Then said he was having a hard time programming/adjusting the controller.

Then he called FSIP and they told him we had the wrong Controller. Said we needed the the same model number controller but the "VS" and not the 5K to 0.

Then I noticed the 700 amp controller specifically says not for use with the ITS "584" converter he had me purchase.

I am lost. Does any of this makes sense to you? What have I ordered wrong or what is my installer not understanding?

Thanks, Mark

I used to sell those controls from FSIP. I think you need the VS not the NS for the ITS converter to work.

It amazing how many folks even the "professionals" get confused over this stuff.

Club car has never made a 5k-0Ω 2-wire rheostat type throttle cart.

Due to the popularity of Club Cars they refer to the 3-wire voltage divider throttle used as a Club Car 5k-0Ω.

They work totally different and the ITS converter needs a 3-wire controller which in that old GE/Star controller you got is called the 51-42L700NNVS.

The "5" model is for a 5k-0Ω 2-wire throttle (rheostat) and not the correct Club Car 5k-0Ω 3-wire throttle (voltage divider).
