what should the resistance be in a spark plug cap? or should there be any?

The cap should be around 5k ohms if I recall correctly. I’d have to look it up to be sure I may be thinking of yamaha

You are correct! checked a running cart and found it to be 4.85. Bad one was 25! swapped into non spark cart. Started right up! cart been down for over a month (was on vacation for 2.5 weeks at holidays). thanks for help!
