Converting resistor cart to electronic controller
Got a nice well maintained G1 recently, drives and runs good but the resistor control gets hot and I don't want to deal with heat in summer. Has anyone changed a resistor cart over to electronic controller? Was it worth the effort and any performance or run time gain?

Re: Converting resistor cart to electronic controller
We offer solid state conversion kits. There is no big performance gain in the conversion itself. Wide open throttle is wide open throttle no matter how you get there. In this case the motor has a direct connection to the batteries with both systems. There are gains to be had with some of the options that solid state allows which resistor coil does not. These speed and torque improvements come from increasing operating voltage from 36 to 48 volts, installing a high speed or high torque motor, and using taller tires.
