Default Re: Any tricks to installing AMD 7126?

Only my experience with the input shaft of a noisy rxv rearend i've changed. The i/s gear had visible wear, with the new one installed, not any better. Input shaft, intermediate and main gear effected each other. I finally decided to purchase a complete new transaxle...

Grady, something no one has mentioned yet and is often over looked, look INSIDE the coupler of your old motor. you should find a rubber bumper in the bottom of it. get it out, clean it up and install it in the new motor. its likely it didn't come with one. other than that....replacing the motor is truely P-N-P.

Thanks Nuke. I already made sure to grab that as I noticed the new one did not have it ;)

One more input that you may want to consider. When you install the new bumper I would make sure the motor housing slides up to the rear end housing all the way or very close. If you have to pull it together with the motor bolts you may be putting too much force on the motor bearings and possible cause them to burn up. This tip was given to me by Robbie at Plum Quick motors.
