Default Voltage question, newbie

Picking up a 2017 48v EZGO TXT today.
I understand it has six 8v batteries.
My question is this, the shop I’m purchasing it from has installed a twin USB port in the console up front.

Does this mean it has a 12V step down already in place or am I missing something? Also has LED front and rear lights, not sure if they run off 12V or it doesn’t matter.

You would have to look under the seat to see if it has a voltage reducer. My guess is that chances are you do not have one. They make USB ports that use 48V input voltage and chances are they hooked the lights up to only two of the batteries sending them 16V which is totally fine.

I would thin that it has a 48v to 12 v reducer in it. Something like this:

Just got her home a few hours ago, I don’t see any kind of converter/reducer under the seat. Oh well... when it’s radio time, It’ll be Converter time.

Thanks guys...much appreciated.

you should do it anyway, they are relatively cheap, and this will draw off the pack evenly rather than 2 of the batteries for the lights, USB, etc.

seeing as how your cart is a 2017.....if it has a voltage reducer from the factory if could be behind the dash....not under the seat. seeing as how the shop installed the USB ports, why not just ask them??
