Engine Smoking?
I have an 82 ezgo gas golf cart, I just rebuilt it so I have extra oil in the system (2 stroke). It is smoking a lot from the exhaust (Obviously). This gives me peace of mind that everything is being lubed well.
However, it is also smoking from the crankcase after being run for awhile.. could this just be from the extra oil or is something wrong? Thanks |

Re: Engine Smoking?
What area of the crankcase? Where two pieces meet? from crankshaft area?
Cases are not porous and don't leak, only where one part meets another. |

Re: Engine Smoking?
Hopefully, it's oily residue on the outside of casings and it smokes when it's burning off. If not.....it's problems. Check it for leaks, no leaks, run it some more.

Re: Engine Smoking?
Hey, it is running better it was coming from the surface of the crankcase as if it was burning oil on top, now it has stopped... I am wondering what the easiest way to mix oil/gas is becasue I am scared of seizing it but sick of going slow and gutless and smokey because of too much oil... Any tips?

Re: Engine Smoking?
Is the oil pump still connected and functioning properly or have you removed/disconnected the oil pump as many have and just went with mixing gas/oil? If you are mixing your gas, if it was me i would drain the gas tank completely and start with a fresh tank of mixed gas. I have a 84 ezgo that i mix the gas for. I mix it in a 5 gallon jug so i get the ratio correct.

Re: Engine Smoking?
1 oz per 1 gallon (for light use) or 1 1/2 oz per 1 gallon
