Ezgo 4 Caddy removed orange wire and now it's fast!!!
I noticed my cart was faster in reverse than foward, so I read a few posts and one said to remove the small orange wire from my controller to my F/R switch. Well I did, and now my cart is FAST almost to fast.
Anyways, my question is; will this hurt anything on the cart or did i just remove some kind of regulator that no one is suppose to know about. |

Welcome to BGW!
Please tell us about your cart so we can better help you. Is this a stock controller or aftermarket? |

Re: Ezgo 4 Caddy removed orange wire and now it's fast!!!
The only thing I know about it is that it is a 98 4 caddy stock. It does look like the controler has been replaced though. The only number on the controller is P194464. The only thing I did to make it faster is I removed the orange wire going from the controller to the F/R switch assembly. It was about a 16 gauge wire. My controller only has 4 small wires plugged into it. The orange wire is the only wire that goes to the F/R switch.
As of now I am scared to drive it because i'm worried it might hurt something. I let my wife take it for a spin and she noticed a huge differance in speed. It now goes the same speed in forward as in reverse, and I'm going twice as fast as my friends Yammaha. If I find out its ok to run it like this I might need better brakes or a roll cage for my wife to let me take the kids out for a spin. |
