Default Squealin

I finally pulled my cart out today and did a loop around the yard. As I started up the hill the belt started to squeal. So my question is does it need tightened or replaced.

No adjusting the clutch belt so that leaves the S/G belt. A whopping $6.75 including tax. Just replace it; It's a pita to adjust unless you are an Octopus and for the money and an easy Roll Off/ Roll On be done with it.

That's what he's saying. You cannot adjust the drive belt. Check the tightness od S/G belt, and adjust if it seems even alittle loose, these things like to be tight, or replace bothbelts

Not exactly Mellow, just that there is no adjustment for the drive belt. You might want to slip it off and check it visually and, some folks swear by belt dressing to cure squeals (i'm not one of them). While you have it off, remove the S/G belt and replace it. My S/G belt was squealing like a stuck pig after sitting out this winter.
Hope that helps,

Chris.

Thanks alot Chris I will probably just go ahead and replace it. Got this cart used and slightly abused so its best to just go new for the price. Thanks again I know it was sort of a newbie question.

Just an update on this thread. It turns out it wasn't the s/g belt (although it is bad and replacing it also) it was the drive belt slipping. So if all goes well I hope to get replacements today. Thanks again guys for the help always appreciated.

For giggles try wiping the drive belt with acetone
and wire brushing it if there are no visible flaws.
