I added a 12V car battery to the cart. I bought a 12 and 6 volt charger for 30 on ebay and the battery i got it for 20 used on autozone. Bought some eye connectors on radio shack and 18 AWG wire to connect everything to the batt. I have connected:
Police Siren, Lights, Radio with 2 speakers.
For the extra battery I bought a curtis 12v battery meter on ebay which i got for 20 bucks shipped.
What I did to charge was bought a 2 prong connector and soldered it to the charger ends and use part of the wire i bought at radio shack and the eye connectors and the extension is on the outside on the cart so I just connect the charger there and charges right away with zero problems. :)

I still prefer to run a solar panel on the roof for charging the "spare" 12v battery. Never run out of power that way lol

I have to buy new 36v batteries, so curious what min cost would be to move to 48v, not counting batteries :)

Alltrax Controller
4g Wires
48v Charger

Is that the bare min, step 2 would be
F / R Switch
Soleniod

Right?

Correct, although I would personally do it all at once. The F&R and solenoid would run you less than $200 if you shop them correctly. Also, depending on the Alltrax you are getting, there may be other options out there for you to consider......
