Is the 4ga AWG and 2ga AWG you find at Audio stores for their amps installs the same thing as what can be used for the cable upgrades on the 36V carts???

The wiring that most use is the stuff from the welding supply stores, or TS welding area. So, no not the same type and grade of wire. The welding wire handles 600 amps, not sure the stero wires can handle a quater of that amount of amperage.

It's also important to see that you get a fuel and acid resistant jacket on your cable .... not sure you are getting that on stereo cable..... Whenever I have seen in carts it always looks like it is aging badly? Welding cable is the accepted type most shops use.

I bought my 4ga set from one of the sponsors here on BGW and I am totally satisfied with the product. You get what you pay for, and stereo cable isn't rated to get wet or be outside in the elements. As a matter of fact the big boys who do the SPL competitions usually have a car that rarely drives on the street much less leaves the garage. 2 years from now my cables will look like new and still perform as good, can the stereo cables keep up with that on a golf cart??
