Rear lift with longer shackles

I have a 92 Club Car. What does anyone think about making the shackles longer to gain lift? Say if I were to make shackles 4" longer than factory, would that mean that I would have to modify anything else for that to work. I'm thinking this would move the rear axle forward but I'm guessing not enough to matter.

4 will give you 2 of lift...... your shocks will need extenders ...... or ?
