Do not remove the wiring, choke, govener and accel. cables. take the coil wire off the spark plug and then there are 4 bolts on the pass. side and 3 on the drivers side of the engine. You only have to loosen the top bolts because they are in a slot.
There are threads on here showing how to remove the clutch and flywheel to gain access to the seals. Then just reverse to install.
I had my engine in and out two or three times.
I like the Avatar of the drag car!! I was with Sox & Martin building Pro Stocks yeas back.

Thank all of you guys for the great help..

I will check all of the hoses and will also check the block with smoke to see if I have a seal problem.

I will look up the info on removing the flywheel & clutch...

Thanks about the car! It is the replacement for our altered that we crashed two years ago. That is why I had to rebuild a 1987 cart that was stripped and left on it's side for three years. Just could not buy anything else.

Go to the EZGO Gas Tech fourm at the top of the EZGO Gas section at the top of the page. There are several topics on making a tool and even showing how with pictures.

You guys were right. Seals were blown.

Since I am recovering from surgery I droped the cart off to a local guy for repairs.

Rebuilding the engine. Rebuilding the top end. Larger piston anf jug and all seals.

Going to remove the oiling system when I get the cart back and mix the oil with the gas.

I hope I am not getting hurt on prices..

$250.00 for parts and $80.00 labor.

Didn't have much choice as I wont be able to lift anything for a few more weeks.

I have posted a picture of it. It's not the best cart but it was a gift from some great friends..

Thnnks guys for the great help and advice.

Price seems fair, making some on parts and the labor is not bad.

Well I went to pick up the cart.. Price was a lot higher.

Said they had to replace the carb. $485.00

New 50 over jug, new seals. new carb and lots of grease all over the seats..

What peed me off was the seats were greasy both backs and the bottom. Also the tail pipe from the mufffler was gone and I will have to remove the muffler to get the choke cable from under the muffler so it will work..

It goes to show you if you won't something fixed right do it your self...

Not all shops are bad..... Or should I say not all shops rebuild your motor on your seat

Some do expert repair service and wash the cart when they are done

No I didn't expect the cart washed just not to trash the seats. The seats were new. I also exlect the job to be done right and not have to do anything to right the problems they have caused. Hope the engine work was done right.
