Controllers effect on run-time
Can someone explain to me the effects a controller upgrade would have on run time on a 1995 36 volt medalist series cart? I see that it make more torque and speed, but does the runtime suffer. Since I will probably need to buy a new controller I would like to see about an upgrade. The cart will be used for hunting and joy riding around the house with mild to medium hills. What would the recommended controller be. I plan on running 4g welding cable for new battery leads and motor leads. I will upgrade the F/R switch and the solenoid as well.
Thanks, Oletop |

Re: Controllers effect on run-time
Anytime you go with more amps your run time is going to suffer. It may not be very noticeable until you add an aftermarket motor or larger tires and wheels.
You wont gain speed with just a controller upgrade....you may gain some speed going uphills but thats only because of the torque increase. You may gain some speed "back"...meaning what speed you lost from worn out components etc. |
