Re: Broken shackle mount extrusion
Huh... I have a gasser, and have had an electric,
and I have yet to have the ramps fall out from under my cart and break the shackle mounts. And, I'm pretty much guessing it won't happen to me any time soon. Fix it however you can, I hope that next time you remember to secure your ramps when loading AND unloading! I can't really help you, I just figured I rub it in alittle! |

It wasn't a matter of remembering, it was "oh it'll be fine, done it a hundred times" This was probably just the straw that broke the camels back. I have towed several trailers around in the neighborhood here, as large as a 4 horse trailer. When its loaded in the truck I have been hooking the rachet strap into extension and ride 3hrs ea way. I did have a set of ramps that broke once while unloading, with the ext on the back. I've had to hook to the hitch to get it out of mud that was over the tires, (stuck the tractor in the process). As you can see this ain't no golf course buggy. |

Re: Broken shackle mount extrusion
Hey I was passing by the home page and saw your post.I have repaired carts like this by welding the extrusion ,then welding 1/4 thick aluminum on both sides as well as the bottom.Don't know what a local welder would charge you,but at least it's an option.

Re: Broken shackle mount extrusion
Sorry Jim, I had a couple beers last night! you know the old saying..."Instant... ummm... wise guy, Just add alcohol" thedog9's suggestion would be the only way I would fix it, Just remember to disconect the batteries and remove the controller before welding! O.K.... time take it back to the electric CC section. |
