Default excess gas usage

Hello, I have recently acquired a 2009 club cart with the FE290 engine, I am getting about 10-15 miles per the gallon, can anyone tell me how to reduce the fuel consumption?

welcome, thats odd .........other than a tuneup theres no real way, can you smell gas at all? sure you don,t have a leak? have you checked oil to make sure theres no gas getting into it.................

That does sound a little extreme, I usually fill the girls CC twice a summer and they DTPOI!
Stick a finger up your tailpipe, (I know the guys will have fun with that one)any black soot?
Several things can contribute to poor fuel performance,
Dirty air filter,
low tire pressure,
dragging brakes,
improper tire alignment,
clutches not cycling properly to optimize engine RPM and torque,
excessive weight in/on cart.
If you are not loosing it on the ground or in the crankcase then it is burning it, need to check all of the above.
Have you done a compression test?

Thanks guys, No gas in oil, Tires checked, clutch completely rebuilt, brakes not dragging. I'm going to get a compression check done. Could an oversized main jet cause this problem? I dont know what was done to the cart before I bought it.

Yes, an oversize jet will do this but if that is the case I would be more worried that a motor running fat will eventually wash the rings right out of it and you will in up with a smoker.

Meaning running rich will add extra fuel to the cylinder which washes the film of oil from the cylinder and will wear the rings in no time.

I have to admit... I have a FE350 with an over sized jet, 25" tires at 5lbs pressure (amongst other modifications) and my fuel usage is not near that!
Heck... my van with a V8 gets better mileage then that!

Is it possible that your numbers may be exaggerated a bit?
