Default starter/generator for my 16hp briggs

hi guys i recently got a 16hp briggs and stratton motor. and i have a starter/generator that came off the 350cc club car. do i need or want to put that on my new motor. whats the perks to do that? or do i not need it at all thanks

The S/G is self explaining. It provides both start and generation properties. Does your B & S motor have an electric start and inbuilt generator ? Can the generator (if it has it) provide enough amp kick back to keep the battery healthy ?
More information would help.

it does have electric start but im not sure about generated how can i tell? also i want to put a stereo in it so the generator probably is a safe bet?

i looked up model 303447 and it has alternator with 16 amps. sorry hope that helps i have no idea about this motor. can i still have the motor running all the time with this generator starter installed?

I imagine that would be ok Johnny but have a read of some of the posts over here. You should find something more specific to your swap.
