Default idle??

a friend of mine, brought his golf cart to me, to raise his idle a little bit, he had his cart in for repairs, and while there the mechanic said he unplugged a wire to let it idle.
is this possible? if it is, wich wire what color is the wire, and where is it located?
maybe a micro switch?
if anybody knows, let me know? i want to do this. seems cheaper than a tuning kit.

thanks PCC

so i found the black wire, bottom right side micro-switch, and i unplugged it.
hit the go pedal, and fired it up. when i let of the pedal it still dies, can hear and feel the relay clicking.
am i missing something? could throttle cable be the cause?
or maybe wires are crossed
i do know this, it is a micro-switch tripping the relay,
will try again tomorrow

thanks

yupp, i forgot to tell a small detail.
i got the thing to idle at 1050 rpms, smooth as silk, not even belt movement. i am happy....... go to turn the key off, nothing still purring at 1050 rpms, turn the key on and off again, nothing, still purring....(panic mode is coming up quickly)
tried disconnecting the battery cables with my hands, nope, there real tight.
turn the key on and off again, (like that's gonna help) then the light bulb go's off, i took my finger and move the micro switch it shut off,
it seemed like when i turned the idle screw up, it kept miicro- switch opened, is that suppose to do that?
cause if it is, then i need to back track to the key switch, yess?
thanks for you'll s help, knows i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer

Uh oh... that's not right!

No... turning the idle up on the carb. shouldn't affect the micro switches!

The "micro switch" your talking about... is this the one you disconnected the black wire from?

If it is... I'm thinking your micro switch isn't wired right,
OR... you disconnected the wrong wire. (it happens... it gets pretty dirty in that box!)

According to my wiring diagram,
you should have 2 white and black wires (one is from the key switch, and the other goes to the engine kill circuit)
connected to the side terminal (common) of the micro,

and the black wire (ground) is connected to the end terminal (NO= normally open) of that micro.

You could hook the wire back up to see if the engine kills after letting off of the go pedal,
And, IF it is wired right, I suppose you could check the key switch:

no it was the top micro-switch that was staying open, and the wires are ran just the way you described, even the key switch is right.

so now i am thinking to myself, the white / black wire that runs to the kill switch, does that go to the governor box?(little black box just below the oil filter which i unplugged to make the cart go faster) is that what it is called?
if so that may be the problem

i have a short day tomorrow, so i will be able to spend some more time on it.
