Default Converted 36 volt EZGO to 48

Hi there, I just finally got my cart converted over to 48 and got it going. I've got a 500 amp alltrax controller, super heavy duty silenoid, 4 gauge wire, and six 8 volt trojan batts. I know some of my batteries are not real good, they've been dead for quite a while but got it to charge up. It's running about 20mph now but I want more. I think some new batts will help but any ideas on what else I can do for more power and speed? Thanks

Question, how do you have your Alltrax programmed and are you still running your stock motor?

Is this a Series cart or a Sepex cart? Standard tires or larger tires?

It's a TXT model, f/r switch by your legs... It has 22x11-10 tires on it with a 4" lift.

You could go a size larger in tire, also you could upgrade your motor to gain some more speed/torque.

What would larger tires do for it besides look better? Thanks for your reply

Larger tire allows for a little more speed ( taller tire), but you already have 22's and some 22's are as tall as 23's. The motor is really your next option. How fast are you wanting to go?

The taller tire has a greater circumference so the cart will travel farther in 1 revolution than with a shorter tire thus making it faster. Upgrading the motor is the next logical step though. But before I'd do anything else I'd get the battery issue lined out. You gotta have good batteries for any of this to work right.

Both would be TXT carts. Do you have a Run/Tow switch? What year is the cart?

Before spending any more money we need to know the battery voltages 12hrs after a completed charge as well as under a load such as a small hill.
