Re: Speed Control Toggle?
The top of the label says "For Demo Use Only", so maybe it's something for dealers to show off the various "chips" to potential customers?

Re: Speed Control Toggle?
You could pull the cover off and see if it has the standard Molex plug, or if the controller is some sort of prototype, that can't use the speed chip.

Re: Speed Control Toggle?
It has the standard 5 pin plug in it, it has a wire coming out of three of the positions running up to that switch in the picture.

Re: Speed Control Toggle?
Here is a drawing of the four different PDS plugs.
Unless two of the pins on J2 are common, I don't understand how they are doing it with only three wires. My guess is that adding a switch that will tie the three wires together, will put it in "Freedom" mode. |

Re: Speed Control Toggle?
I can get some better pics this weekend, but I believe the wires are coming out of 1,2, and 5, and that 3 and 4 are blank. Each wire is going up to a lug on the bottom side of the rocker switch.

Re: Speed Control Toggle?
Whatever pin is wired to the common on the switch, probably the center lug, is the logic voltage source. The other two are the ones that determine which mode.
Put the logic voltage one one and it is Steep Hill. Put logic voltage on the other, it is Mild Hill. No logic voltage on either and it is All Terrain. Put logic voltage on both and it is Freedom. I only use Freedom and Mild Hill, so I added a switch in the jumper between pins 2 & 3 |

Re: Speed Control Toggle?
Very interesting... What speeds are you running now? You know that cart will only go 20 on stock tires even with an aftermarket control... but it makes more torque than a PDS.
