Dave, does the 16 have the 357cc motor or a 301? The G22 has the 357, I understand.

Smallblock has the best advice here Dowg!

The16 is my favorite car, but this 22 is awfull strong! A22 would be the ultimate with the long travel Jakes!! Then you have the best of both worlds!

I don't recall giving any advice on this thead (but, like you said Mike, I'm old, I admit it). Just a couple of thoughts. I do not beleive anyone could tell the performance diferance between the 295/301/357 if the engines and clutchs are working correctly. Now, the steering is something only a member can decide on. Up to G22's all Yamaha's had "worm shaft/pitman" steering, there will be about 1 to 1 1/2" of steering wheel play when correctly adjusted. But, that style steering WILL return to center if the steering wheel is let go of! Rack, has no play in the wheel, but will NOT return to center, both are better in a given sitiation. Now lifts, I only use Jakes, I'd tried others and just was not happy with workmanship or the Chiniese steel that "Will" bend. Since the long travel is not in the picture, I don't beleive the "a arm" is better then the "spindle" lifts, as for the spindle lifts looking bad, that is in the eye of the owner. I like the 3" spindle lift for older people, simply because it can be hard for the to get in and out, but the 6" will get you better clearance for bigger rims and tires. I like Jakes spindle lifts because they "kick" the wheel assy forward and out for steering clearance and stability, but so do the a arm kits. So now that I've totally confused Firedowg, I'd keep it stock heigth, Bigblock it, twin Mikuni's, turbo it or put a bike engine in it.....wait that's another thread Hope any of that helps you make a desission on your new toy. Good luck, we'll all be here if you have any questions.

Alot to take in!! I use to have a REALLY nice lifted EZGO. But sold it when I was restoring my car due to room issues. But Im all in for a Yamaha. Probably end up with the G22. From what I hear from others its seems to be the top of the cain right now. That far to say??? Either way. I love the look of the lifted yamaha's!!!
