Yamaha G3 Sun Classic
So i Picked up this yamaha sun classic g3 golf cart. Has the drivetrain out of a yamaha g1, and when i bought it the motor was locked up, clutch had a whole blown in it, no carb etc. Luckily i had an extra motor, wiring harness, carb, suspension, transaxle and almost every other part that bolts to the g1 frame so i was able to swap out the motor, mounts and carb and get her going this past weekend. I originally bought it to sell since ive had the parts for quite a while and was asking 2,000 dollars until i smacked it into a brick wall at the top (governed) speed. Now its on cl for 1500, but if i cant get more that 1200 I'm going to keep it and have fun with it. Pulling the governor this coming saturday, would like to burn out the exhaust and remove the exhaust butterfly as well or just tie it open or something. I also disabled the oil injection system and do premix of about 45:1
Build plan (if i keep it) Repair front end damage Paint it cheap, maybe camp, maybe general lee or some other idea Remove Governor, maybe swap the carb for something a bit bigger, air filter Burn out exhaust Slightly Larger tires with maybe a small lift Front bumper w/ Harbor Freight winch fix the seats a bit |
