48v batteries and 36 volt motor

I have a 2002 cc 36v and I see some posts regarding putting 48v batteries in a 36v cart. Please can someone explain?Not finding much on the search.

The increased voltage will make the motor produce 33% more torque and speed.

You will have to upgrade the system significantly to take advantage of this.

Your 2002 36v cart has resistor coil technology. It will have to be upgraded to solid state speed control.
This requires a conversion kit and new drive system components. You will also need a 48v charger.

Potentially. It depends upon your usage & driving style. I have had only one customer who told me it did shorten the life of his motor but, he admitted he had given the cart to his teenage sons who ran it non stop off road for 9 months. That's probably the equivalent of 5-10 yrs of normal use.
The higher voltage will use less amperage which will result in lower operating temperatures, this should reduce wear.

No, you need the mechanical throttle conversion you mentioned PLUS one of the drive component packages listed (C42-C72) and cables and a charger to make the conversion.
