G9 rear wheel locks up while driving
Just bought a 1992 G9 gas cart and the previous owner says that a screw/bolt has dislodged in the transaxle and will get into the gears and stop the cart. He said he pushed the cart back and forth to dislodge the bolt and it would run as normal. His mechanic said he would fix for $436 and was a common problem with Yamaha carts. This first happened one week ago and he quit driving the cart and put it up for sale. He didn't want to mess with fixing and sold it to me for a great deal. My question is ... has anyone heard of this happening before and how would I attempt to fix myself? I have moderate mechanical skills, nothing extensive, sometimes a 'hack' ... but willing to give it a shot if not too difficult.
I'm brand new to the forum and would really appreciate any advise, also new to carts, bought this cart to take to Puerto Penasco, Mexico Thank You in advance for any advice ... |

Re: G9 rear wheel locks up while driving
Rack, I don't think that is a common problem. Unless someone took it apart and didn't know what they were doing. I took mine apart, have pictures on page 399 in "The G8 Club".
