G16 input shaft question
The G16 the summer camp owns has had a odd whine in the back end for a while. I took the secondary apart and the grease seal was a little torn up and the end of the bushing in the sliding shive did not look right. I had a new bushing put it. The mechanic said it was not that bad. After reading other posts I checked the input shaft with a straight edge and I can see a little space. The shaft does not have any play in it. My question is, if I put it back together and grease it every week can, I get through this summer? The camp does not have the money to fix it this year. I have an extra shive to go on it when we fix it. Can I damage anything else by using it?

Re: G16 input shaft question
I ran a slightly bent shaft on an old cart for a very long time without any issues.
Did you check the rearend lube level? |

Re: G16 input shaft question
If it's wore enough it will take out the bushing and can wollow out the back of the sheave. Had this happen with my old G2 rearend. Mine was wore pretty bad in two spots where the sliding sheave rode both closed and open.
