I'm watching this one also... Cgtech, good info about aftermarket chargers and RXVs. Wonder if the DPI chargers put them at risk?

Dpi charger does not inhibit controller operation, or "burn-off coil". It can be driven while plugged in.

Yes, it will create lots of heat, and prevent charging from finishing, or at least slow it. It shouldnt harm the controller tho. You can use the handheld programmer while its on charge, so its kinda always energized when you charge it anyway.

Loving this thread. I am getting ready to build my 3rd RXV. I have built my avatar, and a gas limo. I am building a 2nd electric cart and was curious about lithium. Mine is going to be lifted same rims as avatar but currently working on halving another RXV so it can tow a matching trailer bringing seating to a possible 8 passengers. More likely 6 and coolers. I know laws prohibit passengers in state parks on trailers but I live in backwoods GA. Is there a bolt in conversion available?

I don't know of any bolt in lithium conversion kit. There are many variables to consider. It would also be expensive.

Needless to say, no one has talked me out of the lithium conversion. Hopefully my modules ship this week and they drop right in :) I've got everything else installed and working, including EV display, so I'll get some good benchmarks from my old Trojans.

After 9.13 miles, running the lights, for 39 minutes (we did stop to watch a group finish on #9)

Assumptions: 150ah full pack, 51v full.

Thanks. Good write-up and convinced me I'll just keep using my voltmeter. It works well.
