Default 1992 Western (ezgo?) Golf Cart Rear End noise - low speed

Hello,

Recently picked up a 1992 Western Golf Cart and had a couple of questions...

The rear end seems to squeal a bit while driving...I see a drain for the differential/axle, but no fill spot?

Is this differential/axle serviceable?
What type of oil does it take?

and it seems extremely slow on the hills?
2011 Trojan batteries (36 volt set up) and the power gauge is reading full after charging it last night.

any thoughts on the slow speed?

I certainly appreciate any feedback.

REgards,
Steve

The 92 Western is built on a 92 Ezgo Marathon chassis. use 30wt motor oil up to the fill hole.

I have found that alot of the old westerns have a squeek in the rear. More times than not, i change the axle bearings, and that fixes that!.

unless you are getting ready to spin an axle.

Not surprising when you realize they used the stock suspension and added a considerable amount of weight, leaf springs are another common replacement item on these carts.
