91 Ezgo Gas Won't Start
EZGO Golf Cart
Make = Marathon Type = Gas Model = Marathon GX444 2-cycle Year = 1991 Engine is Robin Engine Model # EC253PG Replaced Ignition coil and ran perfectly. Kids hit a bump and will not start now. It acts like the battery is dead. No noise when put into reverserve. Battery is fully charged. Any one have any suggestions where to start? Thanks |

Re: 91 Ezgo Gas Won't Start
A wire comes off the small terminal of the solenoid. It goes through a fuse to the key switch terminal. The reverse buzzer connects to that same terminal. Most likely a blown fuse, but could also be a loose wire, or bad ground.

Re: 91 Ezgo Gas Won't Start
Do you get the click when you put the gas peddle down? If not check the wires on the limit switch as they can break off some times or come loose and of course limit switch could be bad but a bump should not do it. Many other wire connections that are push on that can also be checked. Use a voltage tester to follow battery voltage and even past the battery post to wire for good connection there and check both poss and neg posts. Grounds as mentioned also, one to frame and to block. Sounds like a loose or broken wire someplace. Probably not a big problem and you will find it.

The backup buzzer not working should be a clue that the problem is farther up stream. Did you check the fuse, and the connection going to the key switch yet?

Re: 91 Ezgo Gas Won't Start
Glad you found the prob. Just for your info the limit switch is under the drivers seat area just below the ignition switch with a bolt on top of a box that you remove and pull up. Under that is the adjuster for the limit switch activation { should have a 1/2" drop in gas peddle before hearing the switch click} You will see two wires that are plugged into the switch. Note that it is clicking at the same time your carb throttle is opening. Your carb linkage is the adjuster for that part. Just thought you would like to know.
