Paintdude, it sounds like you have some goals in mind and a limited budget, so look at all the options available and don't take any off the table without thorough assessment, but most of all, take into consideration the interactions between all the components in the entire drive system from the power source (batteries) to where the rubber meets the road. Your AXE500 controller and 400A solenoid should be adequate for most any motor you are likely to install, but the stock cables and stock F/R switch aren't. This is especially true for 36V systems since they draw more amps to develop the same torque than 42V or 48V systems do. |

Most of the guys are using the DPI Accusense charger
