1989 EZGO Running Issues?
I have a 1989 EZGO golf cart that has issues running. It use to only run when the cart was under full choke, but now it won't run at all. I read up on here, and got some great information, on the Reed Valves. I checked my reed valve and the redish looking rubber "gasket" around it looks to be in good shape. I replaced the pedals with the ones from Boyesen. After I did all that, it is still not running. When I pull the plug and pour a little gas down the cylinder it seems to fire, but once the gas burns off it stops. After this I decided to pull the gas line off the discharge on the fuel pump and it seemed to have a decent amount of gas pumping out, however, when I put that line back and then disconnected the other end from the carb it was barely dribbling gas out of it.
SO my question is, do you think I need a new fuel pump? Or is there anything else that I can do to see if that is the actual issue? i.e. a way to check the fuel pressure? Thanks for any and all help that you can provide. |

Re: 1989 EZGO Running Issues?
I see two possibilities. Worn crankshaft seals, or bad fuel pump.
Before you spend any money, take the pump apart to see what it looks like. Click on my user name for previous threads. I have pictures there that show the inside of a fuel pump. EDIT: Here it is. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...fuel-pump.html |

Re: 1989 EZGO Running Issues?
How do I check to see if the crank seal is out if it isn't the fuel pump?
FYI - I still haven't removed the pump to check that out. |
