New belt installed in hopes of curing the perceived slippage problem on take off. I went back with a standard belt because I am not trying gain torque at this point, just trying to get it to perform well at the stock level.
Unfortunately the new belt didn't improve my take off from a dead stop where it hesitates to fully engage until after it revs up significantly and when it does it has a grab feel to it and sudden lunge forward.
When I describe it to the guy at the EZGO place he said it sounded like a clutch problem.

Would that be something you would expect on a 2003 txt?

I can sort of feather the gas pedal and get around it, but depressing the pedal all the way will give you a hard take off that raises the front up slightly.
Anyway, any thoughts on how to diagnose it further?

Well, a new belt will be a bit grabby at first until it breaks in. The only thing I could think of at this point would be maybe the driven clutch buttons are worn and sticking a bit. My 97 is still working well without any issues. It is possible that you need to pull the drive clutch (front) and open it up to clean it. Lubricate it with graphite.
