Default EZ GO 350 Workhorse

I have an ezgo 350 I've replaced the fuel filter, plugs, air filter. It will run when I take 1 spark plug out. But it will not start with both spark plugs in. Seems as if the cylinder is not getting fuel to it. It has compression in both cylinders. any thoughts?

Does it crank slow and seem to stop or stutter on cranking?
Or does it just crank forever and not fire? The latter would be a bad coil or ground on coil.

Be sure your gas cap vent is allowing air into the tank.

It cranks normally. It is odd that I can remove the left spark plug and it will start. Good spark on the both plugs. If I put the spark plug back in it won't start? Seems as if it's not getting fuel in the left cylinder?

How is the compression, in each cylinder measured with a guage? Have you tried adjusting your valves?

I'm thinking stuffed up muffler. You say it will run with one plug out.. Try switching which plug is out and see if it does the same thing. Or just disconnect the muffler and try it .. The exhaust gases have to go somewhere so with one plug out the cyl that fires goes out the exhaust valve thru the header and back into the open cyl.. Just a theory..

That does seem plausible.

There is no reason for the gas to go to one cylinder unless, you have a blown head gasket or a bad valve or rings on one cylinder. If both cylinders don't fire at the same time, there's a coil issue. Both fire at TDC on each stroke. They always told me to check the valve clearance first on EZ GO's. Hope you get her goin'

Yes both do fire at the same time but, due to the lobes on the cam, each cylinder alternates with what they are doing. From the tech manual:

"In the engine, there are two pistons that rise and fall
simultaneously, however the valve cycles are staggered.
When one piston is in the compression stroke the other
is in the exhaust stroke. When the spark plugs fire, only
one cylinder is on the power stroke."

I do agree with you though Tony, he could have bad rings or a valve in one cylinder. A compression test should reveal that.

With that being said, OP follow this simple procedure, http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...djustment.html Then test the compression with a tester and post the results. Good luck!

I have good compression in both cylinders. I'm going to disconnect the muffler and see if that helps anything. Thanks for all the GOOD advise
