Default 2003 club car issues

hey all. I have a 48v club car iq. was having an issue with the motor and wires getting hot. I replaced the wires 4g all the way around. brand new plum quick motor. cart runs a lot better but motor still gets hot specially on grass or hills. slows to a craw on mild hills or grass. the cart is lifted with 23 in tires. anyone have any ideas.

If You are using an aftermarket controller, make sure you have the correct field map loaded.

If the controller is setting the field current too low, the motor will overheat since it cannot develop much torque.

Check the F1 and F2 cables to make sure they are not corroded and are making good connections.

Stock controller with bandit motor and 23" tires is not a very good combination. The bandit motor is fine as are the 4ga cables, but you need to upgrade your controller.
You need more torque to pull those big tires.

It rolled around with that set up for 4 years on a stock motor. Does adding the plum quick make a difference with the bigger tires were the stock motor would do better

Earlier you mentioned that it went real slow up hills and the motor got hot.
It takes a lot of torque to move a cart with 23" wheels. The original controller is lacking in that respect. While the cart may go fine on the flat, with an upgraded controller and the bandit you will find the performance much better, especially on hills. Bandit motor is a great motor, much improved over stock.
