23 mph today
Picked up my new to me 2009 Club Car, 12" wheels, Phantom Body, rear seat. Hand held GPS it ran 20 mph, great. Had shop set the computer to a 4 setting for $ 65.00. Test drive was 23 mph. After I got home and tried another GPS and drove it and 23 mph again with stock electric motor. Very happy, thought I was going to have to spend 800 to 900 dollars to get this speed, I'm happy now. Anyone else getting these speeds with this set up?

Re: 23 mph today
12" wheels have no meaning whatsoever how tall are your tires ground to top of tire ?? Then we can answer that question

Re: 23 mph today
Speed code 4 doesn't achieve that speed. 4 is about 19mph per factory specs. The tire size could possibly be giving you a little more, but the 22+ speeds are typically achieved with the high speed magnet, which is about $30

Re: 23 mph today
I have 23" tires. It ran 20 mph on GPS. Had setup 4 installed, went back out ran 23 mph. Test with two different GPS units. Tell me about magnet install.

Re: 23 mph today
You are good, speed code 4 limits rpm , not speed. You are about right for your tire size.
If your cart is an IQ drive system, you could have installed a magnet that has 4 poles instead of the OEM 8 pole. The controller would still try to limit the rpm, but would only see 1/2 of the actual rpms. |

Re: 23 mph today
At this point the magnet CAN'T do you any good; your cart is already going as fast as if not faster than most... As commented by Sergio if you had an IQ cart over an Excel cart you could have added the magnet which would have allowed your cart to go as fast as it is physically able to go. But if you have an Excel (PH in serial #) cart the magnet would have not helped one bit only the speed code 4 would have sped up these carts... At this point only bigger money will net you any more speed....
