whats wrong with using a 36v light bar??
i have a 2006 txt series cart. I've put 2ga wires throughout and brand new t-105s. I'm not planning on any other accessories, all i need us to upgrade my lights and would like to ditch the stock light that pulls across 2 batteries. I found a couple light's on amazon that are rated for 36v or better
9-36v $35
Amazon.com: 20" LED-22" Light Bar -120w-7500Lumen - Off Road, Polaris RZR, UTV, Raptor, Jeep: Automotive
10-45v $118
Amazon.com: MICTUNING 28" 120W CREE LED Lights Bar Combo Spot - 10W BIG CREE High Quality Off Road Boat Driving headlights: Automotive
I know that these carts charge up at around 38 volts or so but im willing to risk it on the $35 light Question is, Is there anything wrong with pulling it across the hole pack. It seems like it would be a lot easier than using a voltage reducer, extra battery, or messing up two batteries prematurly. Could someone suggest to me how to wire it up? I have a 3 position key switch. with it on 36 volts it would only pul 3 amps or so, could i hook it throught the key switch or do i need a relay to pull it in? |

You need to find out more details. The pack will always be above 36V. In the 38V range.

What kind of details? How about the light that's rated for 45 volts?
I don't think they come with any wiring, just two leads. |

Re: whats wrong with using a 36v light bar??
Nothing wrong with using a light bar rated for 36v, it's actually better that "tapping" from 2 batteries. Dont try to use a switch with a indicator light (switches indicator light not rated for 36v). Never tried any LED setups that could take 36v. New Lights should not dim while driving, if you have enough power to drive it, you have enough power to see where your going.

Would it be OK to break it through the main switch? It's a 3 position off-on-light

Re: whats wrong with using a 36v light bar??
The factory 3-position keyswitch runs the lights from 12v, but that could be easily changed.

But it should be 36v rated correct? I'm gonna do away with the factory head light

Re: whats wrong with using a 36v light bar??
The keyswitch also handles 36v. It will do it just fine if its the factory one.
