Default reverse only even in foward position

Hi, I have searched the forum before i asked, maybe Im not wording it right. Anyway I have a 97 txt with dcs, it has the tow/run switch and the two micro switches for forward and reverse. The problem has been intermittent for a while and is now constant. with the f/r selector in reverse or forward position it on goes in reverse. i have checked continuity on both switches.the f-1,f-2 wires can be reversed and its forward only. Is this a bad controller? I did have to adjust the throttle pedal ring where it contacts the micro switch it was keeping the solenoid energized all the time. any help would be greatly appreciated

I am 99% certain it is a bad controller. Stay away from refurbish - Go new aftermarket.

Any specific vendor you would recommend? Not looking for anything special just stock.

It probably is a bad controller, but I'd check the voltage on Pin-4 at the controller just to be sure.

Should be 36V only when F/R is in R.

------
The DCS controller defaults to Forward and has to be told to go into reverse. (IE: Pack voltage on Pin-4)

The two microswitches on the F/R are Run and Reverse rather than Forward and Reverse.
The Run microswitch is closed in both F and R while the Reverse microswitch is closed only in R.

----------
If it is a bad controller, don't waste your money on a stock DCS (Curtis 1206SX) controller. It was a failed design (No under voltage protection).

pin 4 has 36v at all times. I even unhooked both micro switches and there is still power

Flip Run/Tow to Tow and disconnect the 10-pin connector from the controller.

Check for voltage on pin-4 of the loose 10-pin connector.

The logic gate inside the controller that is connected to pin-4, doesn't draw much current, so it wouldn't take much of short between pins in the MOLEX connector to trigger it.

That isn't it, the controller is bad.

no voltage on loose connector still 36v on pin 4 on the box. Does that mean a bad controller?
