Default How to? or Any additional parts to change G22 Gears?

Hello, my G22 Gaser currently has 8-1 high speed gears.
I plan on lifting and adding mud tires soon so i have purchased a set of factory gears.

Is there any additional parts or freeze plugs or anything i need to purchase before tackling this job?
I already have some high temp gasket make.

Also, is there a how to video, or write up on how to change them?
Ive searched bgw and couldnt come up with anything.

Thanks

I would suggest a new side case gasket. Very important for tolerances. You going to do this in the car or pull the transaxle? Look at this thread http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...put-shaft.html and I'll help walk you through it.

Oh righty then....Jack up the rear and install jack stands. Remove both wheels and brake drums. Drill out driver side inner fender pop rivets and remove inner fender. Remove the entire seondary parts. Remove both axle hubs/ axle bearing circlips and remove axles. Remove the 4 ring gear/diff bolts and keep the bearing caps for the correct side. Remove the "ring gear" bolts and replace the the ring gear to be used and tourque to 40ft lbs, reinstall the ring gear/diff and the caps and tourque the bolts to 40ft lbs, you can reinsatll the axles at this point. Now, at the front of the side case there is a screw/sping and ball for the shifter shaft that will need to be removed. Count how many times you extract it for replacement. Remove the bolts holding the side case on. If your lucky, all the components will stay in place till you pull out the r/dog/f and counter gear assy, Take special note of the 2 thrust washers at either end of this shaft assy. Install the original spacer/counter gear/f gear/shift dog/ r gear and thrust washer. With a new gasket, feel for any binding on the input shaft rotation. If good, reinstall ball/spring and set screw. Reinstall secondary componets to factory "preload", Then fill transaxle with 90 weight gear lube at level heighth at rubber fill hole level.
