Tie Rod Nut
The Driver Side nut fell off this weekend from my 2010 Precedent. Pretty scare when the tie rod jumped out.
I did find a new nut at the local hardware store but it is too tall to install the cotter pin thru the hole. Is there a part number for the factory nuts? |

Re: Tie Rod Nut
Nope. All they had in the correct size was a lock nut.

Re: Tie Rod Nut
You can use a locknut. The later Precedents uses em instead of castle nuts.
Just make sure you have a couple threads out of the top of the nut. |

Re: Tie Rod Nut
Precedents have never used a castle nut on the tie rod ends. They use a dimpled lock nut. Only the earlier models actually used a cotter pin below the nut. It was later rendered unnecessary and they no longer use them. The nut alone is fine as long as it is a dimple lock nut.
