Default g16 starter/generator source

Any good aftermarket suppliers for a new starter generator?

Thought about rebuilding with new brushes but it was in pretty bad shape from sitting for 6 years when I took it apart to get it running, now it does nothing unless I give it a spin by hand at the clutch. Full battery voltage is at the S/G coming through the starting circuit.

Never seen a good aftermarket starter/Generator. If your originals armature is not worn out, you should be good. The only time I have to put in a new one is when the commutator is worn the hell out.

tapped the S/G lightly with a hammer and now it starts consistently. I have a spare set of brushes to swap in if it acts up again, which it probably will, since the originals are well worn.

Change em, they are damaging the commutator.
