Is this even possible?
Ok I just put new brushes in the motor bc it was running hot and smelling "electrical" (also one brush was actually burnt out). I put it all back together in the cart....full battery pack and the cart goes...but not fast at all....is it possible the speed controller could be bad but still allowing the cart to move?

Re: Is this even possible?
It surely could be low on the output, but it could be the potentiometer or other things....
What year and type of cart (Series or Sepex)? |

Re: Is this even possible?
Give the new brushes some time to break in. No hard acceleration and drive at various speed for the first ten miles or so.
Are any of the high current cables or connections getting hot? |

Re: Is this even possible?
Universal troubleshooting:
Raise rear tire off ground and put cart on jackstands. Connect DVM between B- and M- terminals on controller. Press pedal just far enough to make solenoid click. You should read full battery pack voltage. (38.2V if fully charged) If you don't get full pack voltage, trace out the high current cables, find the missing voltage and fix whatever is causing the voltage loss. If you do get full pack voltage, slowly press pedal to floor and voltage ought to smoothly decrease to 0V. If the voltage doesn't go to 0V (or very close to it), check the throttle input to the controller. If the voltage doesn't decrease all the way to 0V and the throttle input is good, the controller is bad. |

Re: Is this even possible?
ok so full pack was 38.4 on the batteries....
key on..voltage reading on big posts solenoid 37.4 with pedal NOT PRESSED key on.. in forward...b- to m- press till solenoid click..NOW THE CART WONT GO... is my solenoid stuck open? |
