Default Need some guidance on 2012 Drive

Going to look at a gas 2012 g29 drive. Other than the obvious is parts worn out what should I look for or avoid.

Thanks in advance

That was my first cart, loved the look and feel . Only thing I did not like was the small powerhouse in there. Great cart otherwise, never had any problems at all

Depends on the clutch's. 2012.5 Yamaha changed from "team" to Yamaha clutch's. You can tell by if they have "zerk" fitting's or not.

The Team clutch is a "performance" oriented clutch. As such I have replaced quite a few because the owners disliked the abrupt or "jerky" take off, never because it had failed. The Yamaha clutch is a smoother take off, but internal parts (rollers and swing arms) wear and the clutch will fail - usually because someone over does the grease and gums them up.

No way would I call Team clutch's "performance", I call them "junk". The primary sticks...I've seen many secondaries wear the sheaves right thru! The new style Yamaha clutch does not have rollers (like g16 thru g22 models) It has metal weights simular to a G2/G9 era, but better because there steel with no bushings to wear.

Okay so team is bad. Got it. When did Yamaha switch to efi? And am I better with carb?

Haven’t made it to see the 12s yet but did look at some clean 14s yesterday. Had a 13 manufacturing date but 14 model. Asking 3750 for the 14 and the 12 are 2700.

Get the newer one, and check to see olif it has the more desirable Dana axle (team axle will have large aluminum fins on the bottom, while the Dana will have a black metal pan/cover).

Yamaha gas car's, expecially EFI car's hold a much higher resale value then I expected. Just depends how much money you want to spend.
