Default What exactly is the “Airbox Mod”? Any photos?

Anyone have photos of the Plowman airbox mod? I see it referenced all the time here and have scoured the web for pictures or videos and no one has any. I know the mod also needs to be accompanied by new jets and other a-sundry bits and pieces but I would like to do this myself...anyone willing to post photos or a video of their modded airbox?

I've got lots of pics, but it's not fair to Don Plowman for someone to publicize his hard work in engineering these changes.

+1. I agree.

Why not give Don a call? From what I read, he's more than willing to help customers tune their engines after purchasing parts from him.

Aside from that, ANY modifications to the airbox without also properly tuning the carb is going to result in nothing but problems and making the engine run like dookie. He has already done the work to properly tune so everthing works right and performs better than it did from the factory. use that

Um, i will be spending $600 on Don in the upcoming months. Not trying to steal anything from him. I didn’t know this was his mod. I just know everyone talks about it and mentions drilling holes in their airbox. I am fully aware of the other things that have to happen in addition to an airbox mod, I’m just trying to have all ducks in a row as I get ready for my kit. Sorry if I came across as a thief. :-/

The only way to find something out is to ask the question in the first place. Good luck with your cart, I look forward to hearing how your cart comes out.

Thanks :) Since Dons shop is only 40 minutes from my in laws house, I’ll be bringing my cart to him next month. Should be awesome to watch the master work. So far I’ve gone from this:

Thanks. So far so good. New clutch is on the way and once Don is done with the cart, I’ll be pretty happy. I’ll paint it this summer with some good bc/cc
