In your photo you can see the round area where the battery post was pressing.
That round area needs to be clean metal on both sides in order to get good contact with the post and nuts that hold the cables on. Clean a little extra to be sure you get good bare metal contact on both sides on the connector. |

I cleaned it up and they are still getting warm. The solenoid coils though seem to be getting hot, and I see a little bit of smoke on them at times. I feel like though that could be bc of the age of them showing a bit of rust on them.

When in doubt... replace EVERYTHING.
Thats what I did and my cart runs flawlessly. Maybe you need a set of 2g cables ? |

The one you cleaned in the photo is not clean enough. You still have srink tube contacting the battery post. The connection has to be all metal to metal. Srink tube is resistance which equals heat.

You see what mrgolf is saying? They are not "dirty" they have rubber heat shrink in the way.

Standard cables for golf carts are 6 gauge. Most people that use carts for anything other than golf go with 4 gauge.

i am pretty sure I overpaid for them also, but I dont mind helping local businesses. Its just after workign with David at Revolution, that bar is set REALLLYYYY high and miami you will NEVER get that type of service.
